Week 1 – 3D work

Term 3 In the first class, all the students started making 3D work using calico based on the research page we made during the holiday. My topic is about gas stations and oil platforms. I’ve been inspired by “car wash” and “diver” to create a 3D work. My first 3D work was inspired by the diving machine under the picture. Especially, the arm part of this machine was interesting, so I tried to make like the arm part. The second one was inspired by the round shape of the diver’s head cover and bubbles that come out when washing the car, and added many round shapes. I made two 3D works and do mirroring them. It was good that 3D work with various shapes came out. When I design, I make it by referring to 3D work a lot. Because it inspires me a lot. For this reason, I tried to make 3d of unique shapes.

Also, I make digital collage based on my 3d works. I used various pictures that related with my research. It was interesting because by making a digital collages, I can make more various shapes, which gives me more diverse and useful ideas.
