We have a month of holiday. Had to make at least 10 pages and started studying the topics I set to get as much inspiration as possible. 

Week one, I studied overall what this place was for, what was made for, what kind of job someone was working here and what skills were used to create this place. And I made a plan to make a page for each page to explain. The first page is about automatic car wash machine, the second page is about car wash, the third page is about my feelings when , the fourth page is an old gas station, and the fifth page is a visualization of my feelings when I think of a car wash. The sixth page is about dirty old cars that look like they need a car wash, the seventh page is about oil platforms, the eighth is about oil platform divers, the ninth is about old and today’s diving suits, and the tenth is about diving suits details. On the first page, I completed the first page by drawing the car wash at the gas station and the bubbles that come out when washing the car. Because blue gave me a clean feeling, I mainly used blue, and I drew several pink bubbles on the blue page to make it look more bubbly. The second page is an extended version of the first page. With the theme of car washing, I added a water hose that I used to wipe off the foam and used blue paint to make the water feel splashed. So the first week’s work is over.

Week two, started making page three. I drew my feelings when I entered the car wash machine. I feel like I’m going on an adventure when I get into a car wash machine. It’s because I feel like there’s a monster in the car wash machine, going into the dark, and it’s so much fun when my huge brush starts cleaning the car I’m in. To capture this feeling of me on the third page, I drew a picture of a car wash machine on the left and a monster I imagine on it. On the right side, I drew a picture of me shaking and the feelings I felt. This concludes the third page. The fourth page is a page made about old gas stations. The gas pump used in the old gas station was really amazing. The gas pump I saw in person looked so different and colorful was pretty. Gas stations and gas machines of this day were so different from the design of the current gas station that I felt was amazing. (The old gas station is prettier) The fourth page worked only digitally. I usually draw something that feels very rough. But I didn’t want to get rid of the vintage feeling of the old gas pump, so I chose a digital collage that I can work neatly. On the fifth page, I visualized my feelings when I think of car washing. I drew my feelings in which my heart was pounding and a little scared coexisted. 

Third, sixth page, I put in an image of an old car that looks like it needs a car wash, and I drew a dark black stain in the background to complete the page that gives a rough feeling. I wanted to make a dirty and stained rough page because all of my research pages I made about car washing are clean pages. I also liked the rough image of the old car, which was old and stained. The seventh page investigated the oil platform. The oil platform is for producing oil and is located in the middle of the sea. For this reason, you can go by helicopter. The actual oil platform has a helicopter landing site. It was interesting that I had to move by helicopter. So I added a helicopter image. The fact that the oil platform is not only built of iron but is located in the middle of the sea gave me a prison-like feeling. So they drew the iron of the prison-like oil platform and attached the only helicopter to the right that could get out of the oil platform, giving them a sense of contrast. On page 8, we studied divers working on oil platforms. Due to the nature of the oil platform in the middle of the sea, a diver is essential when building and repairing the oil platform. It seems to be one of the jobs that plays a really important role in the oil platform. While I was researching on diving suits, it was interesting that old diving suits looked strange. It depicts an old diving suit that looks like an alien and a modern diver.

In the fourth week, I became interested in diving suits. So I collage with the current diving suit and the old diving suit. Maybe because diving suits are not everyday clothes, I liked the details of clothes that I couldn’t see in my daily life. I will refer to these details when designing. The mask used to dive was also fascinating. It’s because it’s something you can’t usually see. Referring to these references, the ninth page is a page that studies how diving suits and diving masks became their current appearance. The tenth page is also an extension of the ninth page. But for me, old diving suits were more interesting, so it’s a page where I studied old diving suits. The details on the diving suit were amazing and I liked it. Diving in the sea is quite dangerous and difficult, so it has been created through numerous scientific studies to protect divers when making diving suits. It was also interesting to know the scientific characteristics and levels of the old days, and I made this content into a page. That’s how my tenth page ended. When I opened all my pages, there were many places to revise. So I rewatched all the pages one by one and revised them. I will create more research pages because ten pages may not be enough.
